The Champasak Provincial Administration Committee and HAGL Group signed a cooperation agreement to grow 5,000 hectares of coffee.
On the afternoon of May 10, a ceremony was held at the headquarters of Hoang Anh Gia Lai Group for the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on investment cooperation to grow 5,000 hectares of coffee and support community development between the Champasak Provincial Administration Committee (the Lao People's Democratic Republic) and Hoang Anh Gia Lai Group (HAGL).
Attending and witnessing the signing ceremony, representatives from Champasak Province included Dr. Alounxai Sounalath – Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council; Ms. Vonekham Cheuangmanivong – Consul General of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic in Da Nang City; and Mr. Phimphone Phandanouvong – Vice Chairman of the Champasak Provincial Administration Committee.
On the side of Gia Lai province, there were Mr. Nguyen Huu Que - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, along with representatives of leadership from several departments and agencies.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Doan Nguyen Duc, Chairman of HAGL Group, expressed his pleasure in welcoming the high-level delegation of Champasak Province to visit and work with HAGL.
HAGL is currently one of Vietnam's leading enterprises operating in the agricultural sector and has invested in Laos since 2008. In addition to its production and business activities, HAGL has supported the implementation of numerous social welfare projects in Laos. Sharing about the project to develop a 20,000-hectare coffee raw material area across Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia—including 5,000 hectares in Champasak province—Mr. Doan Nguyen Duc stated that HAGL will invest synchronously along with a large-scale, modern processing plant.
To ensure the project is implemented effectively and promptly, HAGL hopes to continue receiving support from the Champasak provincial government in planning, land allocation, and related procedures; at the same time, the group commits to quickly deploying local support activities as agreed.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the People’s Council of Champasak Province highly appreciated the reputation, capability, and real actions demonstrated by the Chairman of HAGL Group. The leadership of Champasak Province stated that HAGL is a modern agricultural enterprise applying high technology, which has overcome many challenges to achieve sustainable development and has made practical contributions to the locality over the years. Furthermore, the leadership of Champasak Province affirmed that it would create all favorable conditions for HAGL to implement the project, while expressing the hope that the Group would continue its long-term commitment and ensure harmonious development between business interests and the livelihoods of local people.
On behalf of the leadership of Gia Lai province, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Huu Que emphasized that HAGL's signing of this memorandum of understanding is the first concrete step in implementing the cooperation program previously signed between Gia Lai and the southern provinces of Laos.

The Vice Chairman of the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee assessed HAGL as one of the province's pioneering enterprises in high-tech agriculture and deep processing. The 5,000-hectare coffee project in Champasak is expected to contribute to job creation, increase budget revenue, and promote local socio-economic development. The leader of Gia Lai province also expressed the desire for HAGL to continue partnering with Champasak province in cultural, social, medical, and sports fields.
At the ceremony, witnessed by the leaders of both localities, representatives of the Champasak Provincial Administration Committee and HAGL Group signed a memorandum of understanding on investment cooperation to grow 5,000 hectares of coffee and support community development.
This event not only opens up opportunities for investment cooperation in high-tech agriculture, but also contributes to strengthening the traditional friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos in general, as well as between Gia Lai Province and Champasak Province in particular.
